About us

BrakeStuff - a small manufactory
The company BrakeStuff was founded by me, Dipl.-Ing. Torsten Guba, in 2007. I myself come from the triathlon scene, in which I was active for several years. Due to lack of time, I quit triathlon in 2003 and have since been on the road only with a racing bike, mountain bike or on foot.

The founding of BrakeStuff was based on a lack of spare parts. Since I couldn’t find a suitable 4-hole brake disc for the Coda hubs installed in my Cannondale bike in 2000, I designed and manufactured one myself. Initially made of normal stainless steel and without further processing such as heat treatment. Together with a good friend, we then designed our first design, the Pin Up brake disc. We initially sold this first brake disc only to friends who were bikers. The demand for this and other brake discs became so great within a short time that I decided to found the company BrakeStuff. The name consists of the two parts “Brake - brakes” and “Stuff - stuff” - meaning I produce various “brake stuff” (brake discs, cantilever sockets for V-brakes and U-brakes, disc shims/spacers) for the entire bike community.

By now I have suitable brake discs in different designs and sizes for all standards available on the market. I also have suitable brake discs in stock for older models with 3-hole mounts from Rock Shox / AMP Research, 4-hole mounts from Coda and Formula. You can find the entire product range here in the online shop.

However, I have specialized in the development of individual brake discs, which can be manufactured with a logo, a link, a name, for example. For example, I develop prototypes of brake discs together with well-known companies from the bike industry such as Electrolyte E-Bikes, Specialized and Continental, with which initial tests are carried out with regard to braking behavior, stability, wear behavior. This goes so far that the complete development of the brake disc up to series production is 100% supervised by me. I am particularly proud of this cooperation, as this is only done by a handful of companies worldwide. I am also very active in the development and production of brake discs for your vehicles for the Formula Student Cup. In 2020 I already manufactured brake discs for 11 teams.

Some of my MTB brake discs are offered by well-known manufacturers such as Rohloff, Schindelhauer Bikes, Poison Bikes and Specialized as recommended accessories and as special tuning parts for their products. This shows the high quality of my brake discs!

In addition to our brake discs, we produce rustproof canti studs / brake bosses for V-brakes and U-brakes, from stainless steel and high-strength aluminum for all current and also older frame and fork models. (e.g. Easton, Fox, Magura, Manitou, Marzocchi, Radon, RST, RockShox, SR Suntour or KLEIN, GT, Fat Chance, Merlin und Surly).
